Chemistry 101: Baking Soda and Vinegar Volcano

science_volcano

Volcanoes are fascinating!

One of the best ways to bring geology and chemistry together is to make a baking soda and vinegar volcano.

I discovered a fabulous page on About.com: Chemistry by Anne Marie Helmenstine, PhD.  Ms Helmenstine guides the reader through dozens of AWESOME science experiments.  We followed the instructions in her post, How To Build a Baking Soda Volcano, and had a wonderfully exciting afternoon.

I will definitely be going back to her page often for more easy and exciting experiments!
